Dear London, you’re beautiful but your excessive caroling and overwhelming festive atmosphere is making me miss home an insane amount.
One and a half days is not a lot of time for to see an impressive and global city like London.
Nonetheless, instead of touring the main sights of the city, we chose to cover what we deemed more important – that is, finding Diagon Alley and getting into Wimbledon (even if it meant queueing up the entire morning).
About a one hour bus ride from Newcastle is the impressive Alnwick Castle, a site which we listed as a mandatory part of our UK tour due to its Harrypotterrelevance. Despite being underwhelming in that aspect (actual resemblance to Hogwarts), it did impress with its rich history, size and fun little medieval activities.
